WHAT IS PLAY&REWIND?

Play&Rewind challenges players to test their wit, memory, and precision through a two-phase puzzle-solving experience. In Regular Phase, players rearrange blocks to replicate a target model. Once solved, the game transitions to Rewind Phase, where players must retrace their moves to restore the blocks to their original configuration. With limited moves and the need for strategic planning, this game emphasizes both creativity and skill.

History of the Game

In 1987, a passionate puzzle enthusiast, Mr. Rolando Reyes from the Philippines, unknowingly created a puzzle reminiscent of classics like Klotski and Daughter in the Box. Driven by his desire to craft something original, he refined the design, incorporating colorful blocks and intricate puzzle scenarios. His efforts led to the creation of a unique yet familiar sliding puzzle concept, which he submitted to the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) in 2018. By 2020, the utility model was patented, marking a proud milestone for Mr. Rolando.

In 2025, Mr. Rolando partnered with two indie developers, who shared his passion for creating unique games. Together, this small but dedicated team transformed his concept into Play&Rewind, working collaboratively to bring the vision to life as a digital puzzle game that hopes to provide a source of fun for puzzle enthusiasts.
